The show was a great time, a live studio audience for the first time, we had the UStream.tv webcam going( archived here, no sound we're working out the kinks) and it was just a blast. We started it off with Mr T singing Take Me Out To The Ballgame from the Cubs game on Memorial Day.
Zack (DJZing.com) & Rob were over for some live reviews of Punch Out! for the Wii & an awesome time-traveling Creepy Craigslist reading!
Justin called up and his new show "Radio Free Gamer" will debut NEXT WEEK Wednesday June 3rd @7pm on 8bitx.com!!!
We then got into the conclusion of the Adventures of Marty comic book, and took some awesome calls from listeners that really really were special. They wanted to congratulate us on the 1 year anniversary and without those very listeners it would not have been possible.
To each and every single one of you, THANK YOU for making this possible for us each and every wednesday.
Tune into Justin's new show: Radio Free Gamer on Wednesday Night @8pm.

I don't think the listeners in the chatroom grasped the entire idea just yet. Here are the results from the show and I'll explain in a second.
Rules:
Game must be on NES or Sega Master System
We broke it up by game genre to make it a little easier.
Platformer:
Mario 3 (4 votes)
Mario 1 (3 votes)
Megaman* (3 votes)
Ninja Gaiden (2 votes)
Metroid (1 vote)
Yo Noid! (0 votes) - but the game was discussed!
Wrath of the Black Manta (0 votes) - mentioned on air!
*Megaman version was not specified by the voters
Now how can you vote Mario 3 over Mario 1 for influence!? Obviously people were voting for their favorite game. No mention of Blaster Master, Bionic Commando, or the Legend of Kage.
Sports:
Mike Tyson's Punch Out (4 votes)
Blades of Steel (2 votes)
Tecmo Bowl (2 votes)
Tecmo Super Bowl (2 votes)
Baseball Stars (2 votes)
Super Spike Volleyball (1 vote) - yes!
Now I cannot be mad at the Super Spike Volleyball game mention & vote which made a vague reference to DOA Beach Volleyball, but I really believe Tecmo Super Bowl is the most influential game for football off all time. This was the game that every feature most Madden games have, and it's still played to this day with updated rosters. That being said I think that Tecmo Bowl is a better game, but that isn't what the topic of the day is, and I didn't do a good enough job of making that clear to the listeners.
Next up was beat em up, and it was clear as day I didn't break it down well enough for people to understand what the idea was.
Beat Em Up:
TMNT 2 The Arcade Game (2 votes)
Battletoads (2 votes)
Double Dragon (2 votes)
Renegade (2 votes)
Urban Champion (2 votes)
Double Dragon II (2 votes)
Turtles 3 (1 vote)
Now we saved the discussion in the chatroom by trying to explain, to no avail, that this wasn't for your favorite game. TMNT 2 was a wonderful game, but nobody could explain why it was influential outside of the marketing campaign for the pizza hut ads. Battletoads had some great innovations & amazing feel to the game but again, where was the influence in later games? Both of these games were influenced from games like Renegade & Double Dragon who broke the ground & paved the way.
We will try again with RPGs and other genres of games in a few weeks. In the meantime check out the podcast for this episode.
Stay tuned & thanks for listening!
