Magfest 2010 just DAYS away!!
Magfest.org
MAJOR NEWS! We just found out we have the ENTIRE HOTEL for New Year's Eve. This means we're throwing the most KICKASS New Year's Eve party of all time (OF ALL TIME!) while we set up with even MORE bands in the MAIN CONCERT HALL, GAME ROOM, and whatever else we have open at that time. This goes down at 8pm on Dec 31st, BE THERE.

UPDATE: At least the following amazing acts will be playing New Year's Eve:
- Double Ice Backfire (Shael Riley + co)
- BrentalFloss
- Jake Kaufman e.g. VIRT
- Renard

Stay tuned for even more announcements.

You see, until recently, we were double-booked for New Year's Eve at the hotel with another group (the James Bond guys from last year). Now that they're GONE we are going to throw our OWN Secret Agent party.
We want to see everyone representin' with some Bond-approved attire (okay, okay, it's not required but have some fun) and high tech gadgets.
(HAX if you pick OddJob).
At the request of the hotel and the Alexandria Police Department, please do not bring any weapons, no matter how fake they are.

To attend, just pre-register! Folks purchasing a full-weekend badge on Thursday at the door won't be turned away, but preregistered ones will receive priority in line. Band announcements for NYE are coming shortly.

Happy 10th Anniversay OC Remix from 8bitX!!
Will from 8bitX on OC Remix's 10th Anniversary:
Simply put, without OC Remix's contributions, this site would not exist. I was inspired by the collections of video game remixes I had to put on a show which showcased the original music & then the awesome remixes after that in order to spotlight the talent that was out there putting this major effort on. It started as 1 single episode on Kutztown University Radio, and from there it's turned into this.

The chipamp is what opened up the world to me for NES chiptunes. To this day we are using it in our 32/64 bit tournaments. Without this pack of plugins from winamp, half of the audio production would not be possible.

The value and inspiration drawn from OC Remix for myself is beyond measurement. I would like to say thank you for the last 10 years, and here is to many many more!!

OC Remix official Press Release:

December 11, 2009
Contact: press@ocremix.org

FAIRFAX, VA--OverClocked ReMix today celebrates its ten year anniversary. Started on December 11th, 1999, the website has grown from a small group of avid musicians and gamers to a larger community of artists making a case for the appreciation of video game music as an art form. Over 1,800 fan arrangements of video game music have been posted, along with sixteen albums. To celebrate, ten mixes will be posted today, from ten different games and ten different artists, with each mix writeup briefly summarizing a different year from the site's history.

Site creator David W. Lloyd writes:

"When I started this site in my parent's basement back in 1999, I thought it would be a fun diversion that could help me get better at making music, but also serve as an outlet for VGM fans everywhere to pay homage to their favorite songs. When I was much younger, I remember tape-recording the output from my Sega Master System and making mixtapes filled with Alex Kidd, Shinobi, and Space Harrier music. I've always loved VGM, especially for its strong original melodies, and this site seemed like a good way to express that. While I didn't have any idea it would become what it is today, I did have a certain faith - faith that there were others like me, faith that the Internet was full of a lot of talented people who would contribute their music and their time and their energy freely, and faith that we could show the world that video game music is an art form."

Fans are invited to share their memories of OC ReMix over the last ten years on the site's forums.

About OverClocked ReMix
